Our Story
Created in the mind of Cymphani Cyrine.
Since 2010, Cymphani has been building platforms that spotlight the voices, creativity, and grind of independent artists and local businesses. It started with CC’s World — a digital space she didn’t realize would become one of the first social media networks dedicated to showcasing independent artists before it was even popular.
As time went on, that same passion evolved into Indy Artist Connect, a blog built to highlight rising talent and tell their stories. That blog would later grow into the widely recognized TV show 901 Indy Underground, directed and produced by Cymphani and her partner FAYRO hosted by Moe Javi and Dj X. Together, with a dedicated team, they made four seasons that captured the heartbeat of the Memphis creative scene — covering major community events like the Memphis Hip Hop Awards, DreamFest, and the 8th Annual Black & White Affair.
When the world slowed down in 2020, so did the show. But purpose doesn’t die — it transforms.
In 2025, Cymphani and FAYRO returned with a new vision: Welcome to the Cookout.
This isn’t just another podcast. It’s about community, conversation, and legacy.
The idea sparked when Cymphani and FAYRO launched their food business, Cymph’s Kitchen — a place built on love, flavor, and connection. What started as cooking meals for friends and artists turned into a bigger idea: interviewing creators, entrepreneurs, and leaders while breaking bread together. What began as casual conversations over a meal evolved into Welcome to the Cookout, a modern revival of the Sunday dinner and family gathering.
Each episode brings together culture, creativity, and community — featuring voices like C.L. Williams, founder of Always Giving Back Memphis, Inc., and legends like La Chat of Three 6 Mafia.
Fast forward to 2025, and Welcome to the Cookout continued the legacy — covering the 13th Annual Black & White Affair and featuring an in-depth interview with C.L. Williams that helped draw even more attention and community support to the event and the Greater Memphis Parents of Murdered Children Chapter.
C.L. Williams shared this heartfelt message following the live show:
“Your continual support and partnership with AGB Memphis has been indispensable. Your marketing prowess helped put the Greater Memphis Parents of Murdered Children Chapter in the limelight. Your LIVE Welcome to the Cookout Podcast at the 13th Annual Black & White Affair Banquet Fundraiser was a hit and gave us great exposure for what we are doing for the community.”
Moments like that are why the Cookout exists — to bridge creativity, food, and real connection in a way that uplifts the culture and honors legacy.
Welcome to the Cookout is more than content — it’s a movement.
A place where stories are served hot, the vibes are real, and everybody’s invited to eat, learn, and build legacy together.
Now reaching over 100,000 viewers monthly, and available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, the Cookout continues to expand its table — and we’re inviting sponsors and partners to join the moment.
If you believe in community, culture, and connection,
Welcome to the Cookout — we saved you a seat.
